We store natural gas at the Dambořice UGSF complex in South Moravia. The underground structures there formed naturally, and today - thanks to our state-of-the-art technology - we can store gas in them quickly, flexibly and exactly how our clients want it.
Natural gas can be stored underground thanks to geological structures that usually originally held deposits of natural gas or oil. After these were partially or completely extracted, porous space in the deposit rock – typically sandstone – became available. It is possible to inject natural gas back into this space, to store it and later withdraw it.
Dambořice UGSF complex
The Dambořice underground gas storage facility is composed of two underground storage structures. By interpreting 3D seismic research, we prepared three-dimensional geological and simulation deposit models for each of them. These allow us to predict how the storage structures will behave in various operating modes. We regularly supplement these models with new geological data and operational-withdrawal data.
Advantages of the Dambořice UGSF complex:
The transfer point for the physical delivery of gas from/to the transmission system is the metering station Brumovice, where the quantity, pressure and other gas quality parameters are measured.
